Consultation Begins

Two weeks of consultations begin. Discussions take place in person, via video link and a recording is published online. Locals are given an opportunity to ask questions of the team behind Project Amazon.

Consultation Ends

After two weeks of consultation, things come to an end. The planning team will now collate all the information and feedback from the public consultation period.

Consultation Review

The team now take some time to adapt and develop the final proposals ahead of the planning application. All of the feedback and thoughts provided from the consultation will be addressed and could help shape changes to the final planning application.

Planning Submission

It is anticipated that in early July, the team at Chessington will submit a formal planning application to the council. These documents will provide more detail on the project as well as outline the proposals in full.

Planning Decision

Chessington expects that the local planning office will give a decision on the planning application in September / October 2021. Once this is received, construction vendors will be assigned ahead of work beginning on construction in January 2022.

Construction Commences

The excitement builds as work on-site commences. Construction walls will likely go up rapidly and work on clearing and preparing the site will take place. We’ll be updating frequently when work begins.

Project Amazon Opens

It is thought that the park will be targeting a March 2023 opening. This is however unconfirmed and will be adjusted closer to the time.
